This refreshing herbal mouth rinse works to disinfect & soothe gums while reducing bacteria in the mouth and leaving the breath fresher! Artificial sweeteners, foaming & whitening agents common in commercial mouth washes can wear down tooth enamel and erode gum tissue over time. The wholesome characteristics of the herbs in this formula support a healthy mouth, which in turn helps keep the digestive system at its peak. This concentrated formula can be diluted with water! It can also be gargled to ease a sore throat.

Ingredients: sage, Echinacea, myrrh, thyme & calendula infused in grain alcohol and distilled water, essential oils of tea tree and peppermint

Dragon’s Breath Tonic is an immune-boosting tonic based on the old folk remedy Fire Cider. Dragon’s Breath Tonic is an intensely flavored potent brew that stimulates the immune system and is known to fight off colds and flu, to help ease a sore throat and seasonal allergies, to cure a hangover, replace coffee, clear the sinuses, and help digestion. It can be enjoyed by mouthful or diluted with water or orange juice (spicy OJ!), or added to a cocktail (whiskey, water & Dragon’s Breath Tonic!)

Suggested Use: Take as a daily tonic or as needed to boost the immune system.

Ingredients: raw apple cider vinegar infused with horseradish, onion, garlic, ginger, hot peppers (usually cayenne, but sometimes jalepeno), turmeric root, oranges, thyme, rosemary, and raw honey.

With the apparent rise in disease-ridden ticks it is increasingly important to protect ourselves from these creatures. This recipe combines known repellents from across the globe – Neem oil, from the Neem tree, is native to India and has many medicinal uses including insect repellent, insecticide and skin softener. (yes! maybe we can soften our skin at the same time) Wormwood, a plant native to Europe that has naturalized in the US, is also known to repel all types of insects.

THE LEGEND OF THE BUBONIC PLAGUE THIEVES: the essential oil blend used in this recipe was born out of a legend of a band of thieves that robbed victims of the plague without getting ill. The thieves were spice traders who came up with a concoction they rubbed on their bodies to protect themselves from the fleas that transmitted the disease. This blend is often used for repelling ticks and mosquitos as well!

INGREDIENTS: wormwood* extract, witch hazel, neem oil*, essential oil of clove*, lemon*, cinnamon*, eucalyptus*, and rosemary*. (*certified organic)

SUGGESTED USE: spray generously on skin and clothes, avoiding the eyes! Reapply as needed. May also be used on pets! Essential oils are not recommended for children under the age of 2

HELPFUL HINTS: if you can no longer smell it, it’s time to reapply! Ticks do not fly, but they do crawl quickly – be sure to spray your shoes to detour them from climbing up! This formula can be used on pets too. Keep it away from the eyes and please shake it well before using as the oils separate!

Herbs have long been used to aid in the digestive process! Historically digestive bitters were consumed before or after a meal in a drink known as an aperitif or digestif. Bitters are a classification of herbs that are known to stimulate the production of saliva, thereby aiding in the digestive process. This tonic formula is designed to support the small intestine, to increase the absorption of nutrients (the small intestine’s function!), and to increase flow within the digestive system. Many of these herbs are also known to be antiviral, anti-infection and calming.

Ingredients: ginger root, turmeric root, mugwort leaf & flower, chamomile flower, peppermint leaf, yarrow leaf & flower, comfrey root, calendula flower, licorice root in a base of grain alcohol and distilled water.
Suggested Use: take 1-2 droppers full in a little water or added to a cocktail (hence the aperitif or digestif!) before or after eating.
